Who are we?
Our club aims to provide resources about small claims to residents of Upstate New York. We connect residents and those looking to utilize the small claims system with students versed in New York’s Small Claims system and procedure.
On our website you can find complimentary information on New York small claims law and procedure. You can find specific information about an issue of interest to you, whether it be auto issues or tenant issues.
If you are a local community organization, please contact us as we would love to provide information to you and the clients that you serve.
Our network is comprised of affiliated organizations at Harvard University which provides information relevant to Massachusetts, the University of Pennsylvania which provides similar information relevant to Pennsylvania, and Columbia University which provides similar information relating to downstate New York. Together, we provide information and support for small claims legal issues all throughout the Northeast.

History
SCIS is an extension of the Small Claims Advisory Service founded at Harvard University in 1973. It began as a subcommittee of the Phillips Brooks House Legal Committee. The intended and continued goal was to assist clients in preparing for upcoming cases by informing them on their rights.
